Job Summary

The Dispatch Rider is responsible for the safe, efficient, and timely delivery of food orders to customers. This role requires excellent navigation skills, a professional attitude, and a commitment to maintaining customer satisfaction. The Dispatch Rider is also expected to handle orders with care and ensure compliance with Akadu Bistro’s quality and safety standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Delivery Operations

• Safely deliver food orders to customers’ locations within the agreed timeframe.

• Plan and follow the most efficient delivery routes to minimize delays.

• Verify delivery details, including customer addresses, order contents, and special instructions.

2. Customer Interaction

• Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor when interacting with customers.

• Handle customer inquiries or concerns courteously and escalate any issues to the Delivery Coordinator.

• Collect payments for cash-on-delivery orders and ensure proper record-keeping.

3. Equipment and Food Handling

• Ensure all food items are securely packed and handled with care to maintain freshness and presentation during transit.

• Regularly inspect and maintain delivery equipment, including the motorcycle and food storage containers.

• Report any issues with delivery equipment or vehicles promptly to the Delivery Coordinator or Maintenance Team.

4. Documentation and Reporting

• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including completed orders, payments, and customer feedback.

• Submit daily delivery reports to the Delivery Coordinator for review.

5. Adherence to Safety Standards

• Follow all road safety rules and traffic regulations to ensure safe transit.

• Adhere to Akadu Bistro’s hygiene and food safety standards during food handling and delivery.

Qualifications and Skills:

Required Skills and Experience

• Education: Minimum of Secondary School Certificate (SSC).

• Experience:

• At least 1–2 years of experience as a dispatch rider or delivery driver.

• Technical Skills:

• Proficient in using navigation tools (e.g., Google Maps).

• Skilled in operating and maintaining a motorcycle.

Soft Skills

• Strong time-management skills to meet delivery deadlines.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact professionally with customers.

• Attention to detail to verify orders and ensure accuracy.

• Problem-solving skills to handle unforeseen delivery challenges (e.g., traffic or incorrect addresses).

Licenses and Certifications

• Valid motorcycle rider’s license.
