Job Title: Host
Job Summary: The Host will be responsible for managing the front of the house, including greeting guests, seating customers, taking orders, delivering food and beverages, clearing tables, and managing cash transactions. The Host will report directly to the Restaurant Manager.
This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. The Host may perform other related duties as required to meet the ongoing needs of the restaurant.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests: The Host will be responsible for greeting guests as they arrive, providing menus, and answering phone calls.
- Take orders and deliver food and beverages: The Host will be responsible for taking orders, delivering food and beverages, and providing excellent customer service. They will also be responsible for explaining menu items, answering questions, and making recommendations.
- Clear tables and reset tables: The Host will be responsible for clearing tables, resetting tables, and assisting servers as needed. They are also responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the dining area.
- Coordinate orders between the kitchen and front of the house: The Host will be responsible for coordinating orders between the kitchen and front of the house. They are also responsible for ensuring that all orders are completed correctly and on time.
- Handle cash, credit card, and other forms of payment transactions: The Host will be responsible for receiving payments from customers and providing accurate change when necessary. They will also be responsible for processing credit card transactions and ensuring that all payments are accurately recorded.
- Maintain accurate records: The Host will be responsible for accurately recording all transactions and reconciling the cash drawer at the end of each shift. They will also be responsible for preparing daily sales reports and providing them to the Floor Manager.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization: The Host will be responsible for ensuring that the checkout area is clean and organized at all times.
Qualifications:
Must Have
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
- Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and time management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Nice to have
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Knowledge of food ingredients
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
